WELCOME TO
Bridget Syms Art
I am a printmaker living and working on the “edge of the world” in the wild far west of Cornwall. My work is a celebration of the magical creatures and teeming wildlife that share this rugged landscape with me.
From the raucous jackdaws on my roof to the rare, breathtaking sight of a breaching humpback whale, I strive to capture the joy and wonder of the natural world in every hand-made Lino cut.
The Art of Traditional Printmaking
Every piece I create is a labour of love, rooted in traditional methods and materials:
Hand-Sketched Designs:
Every image begins as a hand-drawn sketch before it ever meets the Lino.
Hand-Carved Blocks:
I use traditional carving tools to bring my sketches to life on Lino blocks.
Hand-Operated Press:
Using oil-based inks and my hand-operated Gunning press, I produce final editions that retain the unique character of the process.
